Welcome to the new year!
Recently I built a free-standing loft inside a metal barn.
I’ve also begun the long process of making another sword in my free time.
In the image below, you can see the various parts and pieces coming together–top, a heavy piece of steel being cut out to make the cross guard (that’ll be fun to throw in the forge and play with!) lower, there’s half of the original suspension spring I used for the blade. There’s a big difference between old rusted and bent and the new, forged and polished blade. You can see the large Agate I’m using for the pommel stone, and a piece of brass I’ll use to fit it in place. I’m excited to see how that turns out. The plan is to do a hardwood, leather-wrapped handle.
