Here are a few slideshows of smaller projects I’ve done, as well as in-line pictures of larger projects.

Table Refurbishing

This old table was sadder than heck when I got it. It came out of a friend’s remodel, and it was on its way to the thrift store. I can’t stand to see a solid piece of furniture like this slip through my fingers, so I asked, and he gave it to me. Originally my thought was to use only the top, turning it into a butcherblock style countertop in a travel trailer, but with time and a little inspiration it developed into what you see here. I spent an hour or so with 120 grit to bring the top surface back to life, ran a router along the edges and the drawer face with an angle bit for a clean finished look, and wood-burned and oiled the whole thing. The scroll decoration was done with a simple craft-grade wood-burner tool, and the legs and crossmembers were held over a propane torch until nicely toasted golden brown.

Viola! A ragamuffin turned piece of art. All it took was a little TLC:)
