April Update
Greetings! Thanks for stopping in!
Let’s start off strong with a blanket statement that assumes a lot.
Blanket Statement: In 2024, everyone has been busier than they were in 2023.
Ok maybe not 100% true . . . but I feel like most people I’ve talked to agree that this statement is accurate. If it’s true for you, welcome to Pierce Innovation. Feel free to subscribe to my blog for more upcoming snippets of (un)useful wisdom.
At the beginning of this year, I thought to myself, Certainly I won’t be super busy until about May or June. That’s when things normally start picking up for a contractor.
That has turned out to be completely off base. Let me show you some of the projects I’ve been working on.
I started off kinda easy in the colder weather. This wall was hidden behind a bookshelf, and was a mish-mash of different pieces and patches. You can see the rasp I used in the picture. I’d recommend taking these projects slowly, trying not to create too much dust inside the house. The small tool helped achieve that; and I sucked up the rest with a vacuum later. The finished product is so much better!
Here it is without paint. It is nice and smooth, ready for a final coat.
The same folks also had me turn a square doorway into an archway, which was a super neat project!
And I must mention, aside from my normal contracting, I recently started jewelry crafting. Check out this page for a look at my first copper ring with African Jade.
For my next project, as the weather warmed up a bit, a gentleman had me install a single post in his back yard. No idea why.
Just kidding:) Here’s farther along in the project.

Here’s a big project coming up … It’s still in progress but I’m excited for you guys to see it. This building was originally two separate ones: goat barns with straw floors and metal walls. You can see that I’m connecting the two roofs together as a start to the build, so that I didn’t get rained on while working.
Again, here’s the link for the slideshow if you want to get a better look at the build.
These 6×6 beams were all rotted out from water damage. I tore up the floor and spliced them with new wood, re-decked over them, and put down sub-floor.
Keep in mind when you look at THIS slideshow, that it’s just one guy doing it all. I don’t have employees and don’t intend to. I may post on my reasons for that at a later date. But that said, many people question one human’s abilities to create large structures from scratch.
To get a better idea of what’s going into this deck build, check out the link above!
I have so many pictures for you guys! I wish I could post them all here but I think that my post would just take forever to load, and you’d be scrolling until the Good Lord comes back. That’s why I’m just touching on the highlights here and putting my slideshows on another page.
Thanks for stopping in! If you’d like to support my work, it would be great if you could share this post with your friends!
Stay safe out there and don’t forget to stop and breathe every once in a while in our crazy warp-speed culture:)
As always, God bless you and yours.
